Our current science unit focuses on matter. Today, scholars explored liquids and answered the focus questions: "Do liquids have a shape and keep their shape? Do liquids mix together?" Partners received water died green and a 'mystery liquid'. Their task was to pour the 'mystery liquid' into the water and see what happens. Many students saw their two liquids mix, while others saw layers of their liquids forming. Once students recorded their observations, their next task was to stir the two liquids and see if anything changed! Most of the liquids mixed together after stirring; however there was still one liquid that was layered! Ask you students what the mystery liquids were!
