November 21, 1620 the Pilgrims finally landed in Cape Cod! On Friday, November 21, 2014, second grade students participated in a Pilgrim day at RES! Students participated in Pilgrim cooking which consisted of: apple sauce, corn muffins, and butter. Classes also rotated through three Pilgrim stations: stenciling, Pilgrim games, and a Colonial school room. Our classes were transformed to colonial times where electricity was not yet invented, scholars regarded their teachers as "Madam", and second graders were asked to "toe the line". This was a great way to end our "Founding Families" social studies unit where history came alive! Please take a look at the "Pilgrim Day video" for live action scenes and the pictures below! Happy Thanksgiving!
