Tuesday, scholars were transported to Mexico and were able to sample traditional Mexican foods! In correlation with our social studies unit, It's A Small World: Mexico, scholars have been learning, comparing and contrasting their lives to that of people in Mexico. Students were able to sample: tortilla chips, salsa, guacamole, beans, jalapeno peppers, and for the risk takers, habenero peppers! There was also the Mexican staple dessert: chocolate! Many of the reactions to the spicy peppers were priceless, but overall second graders enjoyed sampling Mexican treats!
