On Friday, second graders culminated their study on Founding Families: Pilgrims by participating in three pilgrim activities. Scholars rotated through each of the three second grade classrooms and participated in a one room school house, making and playing pilgrim games, and stenciling.
Mrs. Riggs played the role of the Pilgrim teacher in the one room school house that included no electricity, chalkboards, hornbooks, and even the dunce cap! While in Mrs. Robinson's room, scholars were able to create and play with Bilbo catchers, a typical Pilgrim child game. In Ms. Darling's room, scholars were creating cards with stencils which were an early form of art of the Pilgrims.
Everyone had a great time and enjoyed experiencing the Pilgrim life!
