Matter Survival Challenge! #resvt

For our science unit on matter, students are learning about how materials are best suited for a job based on their properties. Students explored different types of clothing (rain jacket, sweater, shin guard, and a t-shirt) and had to record the properties and why someone might wear that clothing. The next day students experimented with paper towels, tin foil, paper bags, and paper plates and had to rate each in the categories of softest, absorbent, and stiff. All of these materials would be used for our survival challenge to make a sunhat. Check out the pictures of the survival hats that we created and tested today!
