Flynn Theater Workshop

Today, second graders participated in a Flynn Theater workshop that correlates with the play they will be seeing on January 22nd with Senora Harris, titled The Dream Carver. Students had a hands on experience working with puppets, learning how to make eye contact and make puppets talk! It was a great way to get students hooked on the play they will be seeing which connects to our social studies curriculum: It's A Small World: Mexico. We are looking forward to seeing the play next Wednesday!

Math Think Tank

Throughout the year our class has been discussing what it means to persevere and work together as a team during math time. Today, a few scholars were able to work as a team to solve a multi-step word problem. Students truly understood the meaning to persevere since they are going onto the third day working on one problem. Many strategies were shared along with words with encouragement!

Darling's Delights

"Darling's Delights is where we eat with our teacher and she reads to us. We listen to music and she shuts off the lights and turns on colored lights. I love it because she is so fun." -written by Hailey

When It's Cold Outside...

We are warm and creative inside! In the recent days the weather has dropped below zero and our playground has turned into an ice rink! Second graders have been spending their indoor recess time playing board games, using team work to solve puzzles, make creative creative drawings and use technology!

Even though we are all having fun exploring, we can't wait until we can go outside again! (photo credit Mrs. Lister)
